The expert named the number of working weeks in January
In January, there will be only three working weeks in Russia, the first one will begin on the 12th after the New Year holidays. RANEPA expert Tatiana Podolskaya told about this on January 9.
"After the long New Year holidays, the first working week of January will begin on Monday, the 12th, and there will be only three working weeks in January," RIA Novosti quoted her as saying.
It is specified that about 36% of Russians agreed to go to work during the New Year holidays.
A day earlier, Podolskaya said that due to the small number of working days, a vacation in January would be unprofitable for employees on salary. So, for workers on a five-day work week, there will be 15 days off in January this year. If we also take into account public holidays, the total number will be 16.
Earlier, on January 6, Podolskaya said that in 2026 Russians will have five four-day working weeks, as well as one three-day and a week with a holiday in the middle of the working week. According to her, the shortened working weeks will be timed to coincide with public holidays.
Also on January 5, she noted that the most profitable months for holidays in 2026 will be July, April, September, October and December due to the largest number of working days.
