The development of oil and gas production in the Arctic will require the adoption of technical regulations and the development of an appropriate regulatory framework. This was announced on January 9 by the president of the Union of Oil and Gas Industrialists of Russia (UNGPR) Gennady Shmal.

"The Arctic is a colossal reservoir of hydrocarbons. Although the oil in its depths belongs to the category of hard-to-recover, we know how to work with it. After all, 60% of the oil produced in Russia belongs to this category," he recalled.
