Sobyanin called Moscow one of the world leaders in terms of school education
The Russian capital is one of the global leaders in the quality of school education. This was stated by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
He spoke about the measures that the authorities of the capital are constantly taking to further develop this area. In particular, as Sobyanin wrote in his channel in the MAX, the quality of natural science education is improving. "Additional math classes have been introduced at the elementary school. They help to develop children's logic and creative thinking. More than 14,000 primary school teachers have received special training to work according to the new standards," the mayor said.
The development of the Moscow Electronic School continues. As part of this project, the Digital Teacher service has been introduced, which uses neural networks to "select individual tasks, offer exercises to fill in the gaps and build a personal educational route," Sobyanin said.
During the renovation of the infrastructure, 52 new schools and kindergartens were opened in Moscow last year alone. Another 51 buildings were reconstructed under the My School program, and work continues in dozens of schools. In the adjacent territories, "running tracks were renovated, playgrounds, long jump pits, basketball courts, mini-football, table tennis and GTO, workout zones and recreation areas were set up," the mayor added.
According to Sobyanin, special attention is paid to patriotic education. More than 20 thousand children participate in the work of military-patriotic clubs operating on the basis of schools and colleges. There, under the guidance of mentors, the children participate in expeditions and study the history of Russia.
In October last year, Sergei Sobyanin announced that 814.6 billion rubles would be allocated for Moscow education in 2026. In 2026-2028, it is planned to build 195 educational facilities, including with the participation of investors, the mayor noted. In addition, the construction of seven flagship colleges will begin, three of which are planned to be commissioned by the end of 2028.
