The staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations evacuated 17 dogs from the fire that engulfed the house and outbuildings on Abyzova Street in Kemerovo, and five people were able to get out on their own. This was announced on Thursday, January 8, by the press service of the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Kemerovo region – Kuzbass.

"In Kemerovo, on Abyzova Street, flames engulfed a house and outbuildings. <...> Before the arrival of firefighters, five people evacuated on their own, and 17 dogs needed the help of employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations," the agency said in a Telegram channel.

It also emphasizes that as a result of the fire, which covered an area of 172 square meters, the wooden lattice of the roof of the house was burned and partially collapsed, and the walls of outbuildings burned out on all sides. The flame was extinguished — 30 specialists and six pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing it.

On the same day, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Primorsky Territory reported the rescue of 42 people from a fire in Vladivostok, including four children. It was noted that at the time of the arrival of firefighters, the balcony on the fourth floor was engulfed in flames, and heavy smoke was observed in the entrance from the fourth to the ninth floor. The operation to evacuate the residents was carried out using rescue devices.
