Three servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), including one soldier of the Arey regiment, who took part in the invasion of the Kursk region, were captured in the Sumy region. This was reported on January 8 in the Russian law enforcement agencies.
"Three servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been captured in the Sumy region, including one from the 253rd separate assault regiment Ares," the source told the TASS news agency.
According to the prisoners, the basis of the Ares regiment, in addition to the nationalists, are former prisoners convicted of serious crimes, as well as foreign mercenaries.
Earlier, on December 5, it was reported that Vladimir Lee, a captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told about the transfer of important coordinates for strikes to the Russian army. It was noted that he provided information on the location of various military installations of the Ukrainian formations.
