In Russia, honey, cheese in pizza, olive oil and biologically active additives (dietary supplements) remain problematic products in terms of a large proportion of adulteration. Maxim Protasov, the head of the Roskachestvo organization, told about this on January 8.

"Now about the problem areas. Since 2024, we have been systematically cleaning up the honey market. <...> In 2026, we will continue monitoring to achieve full traceability "from hive to shelf." An important step was the creation of the Charter of Bona Fide Honey Market Participants, which unites honest producers and sellers," TASS quoted him as saying.

For example, undeclared vegetable fats were found in 45% of the tested pizza cheese samples. Signs of adulteration were also found in 47% of the oil samples, mainly impurities of cheap oils.

"And finally, dietary supplements. A study of omega-3 supplements has shown that the content of the claimed active substances ranges from 15 to 60%. This indicates defects in the input control of a number of manufacturers, technological failures and even in some cases the desire to save on raw materials to the detriment of quality," concluded Protasov.

Earlier, on December 24, Roskachestvo identified E. coli group bacteria in salmon roe of five brands. At the same time, pathogenic microorganisms, including salmonella, sulfite-reducing clostridia, staphylococcus aureus and mold, were not found in all the caviar tested. Also, Roskachestvo did not detect parasites or the presence of their larvae in the products.
