The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will continue to conduct operations in Minneapolis despite the incident involving the murder of one of the protesting residents of the city by an employee of the department. This was announced on January 7 by the US Secretary of the Interior, Christie Noem.

"We will continue operations in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and our target will be dangerous criminals. Only yesterday, people accused of assault, sexual harassment, and child exploitation were detained here. Why do you want them on your streets?" she said.
