Chinese intelligence allegedly gained access to the emails of US Congressional staff. This was reported on January 7 by The Financial Times (FT) newspaper.

"Chinese intelligence gained access to email systems used by some staff of the House of Representatives Committee on China," the publication says.

The Chinese embassy in the United States denied the charges.

"We strongly oppose unfounded speculation and accusations by the United States, the use of cybersecurity to denigrate and denigrate China, as well as the spread of all kinds of misinformation about the so—called Chinese hacker threats," the embassy representative said.

Earlier, on July 23, it was reported that the US National Nuclear Safety Administration was subjected to a hacker attack as a result of hacking Microsoft SharePoint. It was clarified that there is no reliable information about the compromised classified information of the American department.
