On January 8, the press service of Rospotrebnadzor gave recommendations on the choice of meat for barbecue.

"First of all, it is necessary to pay attention to the appearance and color of the meat, the condition of the fat and tendons, the smell and consistency. The most reliable way to determine the freshness of meat is to put pressure on it with the pad of your finger. If the surface quickly returned to its previous shape after that, it means that the meat is fresh," RIA Novosti quoted the agency as saying.

In addition, it is recommended to buy meat in the store and at the market, where experts carefully check the quality of the product. Do not forget to check the date of manufacture of the product and the integrity of the packaging.

Speaking of marinade, Rospotrebnadzor recalled that lactic acid products spoil faster than marinades made from vegetables and lemon juice.

"For balance, it is better to eat shish kebab with vegetables and herbs, but do not forget that shish kebab is a very high–calorie food, so you need to take precautions when eating it," the ministry added.
