The United States does not intend to steal oil from Venezuela. This was announced on January 7 by US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright.

"We only control sales and cash flows in Venezuela so that the funds can be used to improve the living conditions of the Venezuelan people and reduce risks for Americans," he said in an interview with CNBC.

In addition, Wright added that American oil companies are not yet ready to invest heavily in Venezuela's infrastructure.
