The flag of Ukraine was removed from the Czech government building in the center of Prague, where it had been hanging since February 24, 2022. This was announced on Wednesday, January 7, by the Idnes portal.

"There is now a standard combination of flags in front of the government Office building, as it was before, that is, the flag of the Czech Republic and the European Union," said Czech government spokeswoman Carla Mrachkova.

Tomio Okamura, who reportedly personally held the stairs, was the first to remove the flag of Ukraine from the building of the Chamber of Deputies of Parliament after his election as its head. Later, the flag was removed by Interior Minister Lubomir Metnar, and now it is not in front of the government office.

Czech Parliament Speaker Tomio Okamura said on January 1 that money from the budget intended for the needs of socially vulnerable groups of the population should not be spent on the purchase of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). In addition, Okamura expressed his conviction that Ukraine should not be in the European Union (EU). The politician wished the Ukrainian people a speedy peace.
