- The political scientist pointed out the impossibility of deploying EU forces in Ukraine without the consent of the Russian Federation.
European countries will not send their troops into Ukraine without Russia's consent. Pavel Danilin, a political scientist and director of the Center for Political Analysis, told Izvestia on January 7.
"No European country will send troops to Ukraine until Russia agrees to this. No European country would officially want to be at war with Russia. They can say what they want, but they will not introduce troops themselves under any circumstances," said Danilin.
He stressed that Moscow would never agree to a peace that provided for the deployment of troops of the "coalition of the willing" on Ukrainian territory, which, in fact, are NATO forces. In addition, Russia is categorically not satisfied with the amount of armed forces that Ukraine intends to maintain after the conflict.
Danilin recalled that the special military operation began precisely in order to prevent the appearance of NATO troops at the Russian borders, and Moscow is completely unhappy with the peace proposal provided they are present in Ukraine.
On the eve of the special envoy of the President of the United States, Steve Witkoff, announced the completion of the main work on security protocols for Ukraine.
On the same day, the "coalition of the willing" signed a declaration on the deployment of the military in Ukraine. French President Emmanuel Macron clarified that the document sets out in detail all the components of security guarantees, and the participants agreed to create a single coordination center.
The next day, the Politico newspaper reported on the refusal of the United States to sign declarations on security for Ukraine.
