Starting in February, the annual indexation of maternity capital will be carried out in Russia, it will amount to 6.8%. This was announced on January 7 by Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes Kaplan Panes, LDPR faction.

"Starting from February 1, 2026, the state will conduct an annual indexation of maternity capital, increasing it by the planned 6.8%. This measure will affect both those families who have just received the certificate, and those who still have unspent funds in their account. In 2026, almost 1.7 million families will be able to use capital resources, for which almost 567 billion rubles are provided, which is 30 billion more than in 2025," TASS quoted him as saying.

So, after indexing, the amount of payment for the first child born or adopted on January 1, 2020, will amount to 737,205 rubles and 10 kopecks. Also, if the payment for the first child has not been received, the family will receive 974,189 rubles and 12 kopecks for the second child.

"For families who have already received payments for their first child after 2020, an additional payment of 236,983 rubles and 99 kopecks is required at the birth of their second child. You can check the current balance of funds in your personal account on the Gosuslugi portal or on the website of the Social Fund of Russia," the parliamentarian said.

Valentin Stanovov, a former law enforcement officer and expert on ethnic crime, said on December 29 that increased control over social benefits, including maternity capital, should take place not through selective supervision of individual risk groups, but through universal technological modernization.
