Russian President Vladimir Putin celebrates the feast of the Nativity of Christ in one of the military churches of the Moscow region. This was announced on January 7 by presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

"Vladimir Putin attends the Christmas Service in one of the churches in the Moscow region. Military personnel and their families are with him," Peskov said.

The Russian leader attends church services on Christmas day every year. Since 2000, Putin has celebrated Christmas four times in St. Petersburg, three in the Tver Region, and four in Moscow.

On the night of January 7, the Patriarchal Christmas service began in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. The live broadcast of the event is conducted by Izvestia. The service is conducted by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
