The Russian Army is gaining an advantage over the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) by equipping the Geran-2 attack drones with Igla MANPADS. The American magazine Military Watch Magazine writes about this on January 6.

"Russia has refined the Geran-2 drones, equipping them with air–to-air capabilities. Man-portable Igla anti-aircraft missile systems are now being installed on drones. Ukrainian officers have already warned the crews of their planes about the new threat," the newspaper reports.

According to the magazine, Ukrainian sources confirm that the modified Geraniums have shown the ability to hit dynamic targets and provide direct air support to troops. Simple data transmission channels make them an effective tool for destroying rear areas, artillery and air defense systems, and expanded production ensures the availability of drones even for secondary purposes.
