In 2026, Russians will have five four-day working weeks, as well as one three-day and a week with a holiday in the middle of the working week. This was announced on January 6 by Tatiana Podolskaya, an expert at the Presidential Academy.

According to her, the shortened working weeks will be timed to coincide with public holidays.

"The four—day working weeks, of which there are five, will be: the last working week in February (due to Defender of the Fatherland Day); the second week in March (due to International Women's Day, but the day off has been postponed to 9.03); the last week in April (due to Spring and Labor Day); the second week in May (due to Victory Day — 9.05); the second week in June (thanks to Russia Day)," Podolskaya explained to TASS.

The expert also noted that the last week of December will be the shortest.
