Russians were reminded of a new social supplement to their pensions

Non-working pensioners, whose pension does not reach the value of the pensioner's subsistence level, will be eligible to receive a federal or regional supplement up to its level. This was announced on January 6 by Igor Balynin, Associate Professor of the Department of Public Finance at the Finance Faculty of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

"For all non—working pensioners, whose total amount of material security does not reach the minimum subsistence level of a pensioner in his region of residence, a federal or regional social supplement to the pension is established up to the value of the pensioner established in the region of residence of the pensioner," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
