The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has released a list of participants in tournaments for the right to play with the current holders of the world chess crown. This was reported on the organization's website on January 5.

Russian Andrey Esipenko, Americans Fabiano Caruana, Hikaru Nakamura, Dutch Anish Giri, German chess player Matthias Blubaum, Chinese representative Wei Yi, Javokhir Sindarov from Uzbekistan, and Indian Rameshbabu Pragnanandha will take part in the men's tournament.

"Among the women, Alexandra Goryachkina and Ekaterina Lagno (both from Russia), Zhu Jin'er, Tan Zhongyi (both from China), Divya Deshmukh, Hampi Koneru, Rameshbabu Vaishali (all from India), and Bibisara Asaubayeva (Kazakhstan) will take part," Sport—Express notes.
