Dozens of Russian tourists are stuck on Socotra, and there is no information about the restoration of flight schedules to the island yet. This was reported to Izvestia on January 5 at the Russian Embassy in Yemen.

"There is no data on the restoration of the flight schedule in relation to Socotra," the embassy noted.

The diplomatic mission added that over the past two days, appeals have been received regarding several dozen Russian citizens who are on the island. The Russian Embassy collects data, considers evacuation options and cooperates with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation and the Yemeni authorities.

At the same time, flights on some other routes from the city of Aden have already resumed.

The Russian Embassy reported yesterday that a number of Russians are currently unable to leave Socotra Island due to flight restrictions imposed in Yemen. The diplomats clarified that the tourists arrived on the island contrary to the repeated recommendations of the Russian Foreign Ministry to refrain from traveling to the region.

The Saudi-led coalition launched a military operation on December 31. This happened after the UAE ships docked at the port of the republic without approval. The Yemeni authorities announced the introduction of a state of emergency on the territory of their state for a period of 90 days, and also demanded that the UAE withdraw all forces from their country within 24 hours.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
