The United States is not waging war against Venezuela and is not occupying the country. This was announced on January 5 by the United States Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Michael Waltz.

He added that, according to Washington, there is convincing evidence of the crimes attributed to Maduro.

On January 3, Trump announced that the United States had successfully launched a large-scale strike against Venezuela. He noted that the President of the republic, Nicolas Maduro, and his wife, Celia Flores, were captured and taken away from the territory of the state.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the US leadership to release Maduro. In addition, the Ministry also stressed the need to create conditions for resolving existing problems between the parties through diplomatic means.
