Russia calls on the United States to immediately release Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife. This was announced on January 5 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya.

According to him, any contradictions between the United States and Venezuela should be resolved through negotiations.
