A cargo ship flying the flag of Vanuatu ran aground 50 m from the shore in the Temryuksky district of the Krasnodar Territory. This was announced on January 5 by the regional operational headquarters.

"The vessel was sailing under the flag of Vanuatu without cargo," the operations staff said.

The incident occurred near Cape Iron Horn. The crew of 11 people independently reached the shore in lifeboats, there were no casualties. All seafarers are provided with the necessary assistance.

The final decision on the expediency of repairing the flagship of the Northern Fleet has not yet been made — in case of abandonment, the ship will be disposed of.

In the Vologda region, the passenger ship Alexandra ran aground on September 11, 2025. It was removed later that day. It was noted that during the route from St. Petersburg to Moscow, the ship deviated from the course, as a result of the incident, no one was injured.
