Any request to obtain biometric data remotely is a sign of fraud. This was reported on January 5 in the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"The main protection against attacks related to biometrics is personal vigilance and understanding that your unique data cannot be transferred to anyone remotely. Any request to do this is a sure sign of fraud," TASS cites the text of the message.

The Interior Ministry added that in case of a fraudulent attack, it is necessary to immediately call the bank at the number on the back of the card, block accounts and change all passwords, especially from online banks and "Public Services". After that, you should file a complaint with the police and Roskomnadzor about the unlawful processing of personal data and an attempt to steal money.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reported the day before that fraudsters posing as mobile operators most often use messages about the allegedly expiring validity period of the number, the extension of the contract and the imminent blocking of the phone to obtain an authorization code on the Gosuslugi portal.
