Altufyevsky highway understudy opened in Moscow
A stand-in for Altufyevsky Highway on the section from Kostromskaya Street to Moskovsky High-Speed Diameter (MSD) was opened in Moscow. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in his channel in the IACH.
"Local residents of five districts at once, where more than half a million people live, received fast and convenient transport links to the metro and social facilities," the head of Moscow noted.
To create a stand-in, specialists built an overpass across the railway tracks, connecting Kostromskaya Street and Yurlovsky Passage, and also reconstructed a section of Agricultural Street. The road from Yurlovsky Passage to the MSD has been expanded to 3-4 lanes in each direction.
With the introduction of a stand-in, the routes of urban land transport will change, Sobyanin stressed. Instead of buses No. 134 and No. 23, electric buses No. 534, No. 573 and night route h9 will run along the new roads.
The stand-in will reduce the load on the section of the Altufyevsky highway from Bibirevskaya Street to the MSD by 10% and reduce travel time by half an hour, Sobyanin stressed. The new road will also reduce congestion on sections of Polyarnaya and Kola Streets from Dezhnev Passage to Iskra Street by 19%.
