In the Kherson region, security measures will be strengthened after the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a cafe and a hotel in the village of Khorly. This was announced on January 5 by the governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo.

"Of course, it is worth strengthening security measures. We all live in a region under martial law, and it's too early to relax... The enemy, distraught by inhuman malice, does not care who he kills, as long as he harms Russia," Saldo said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The governor also stressed that gatherings of civilians are no less threatened than military installations.

Earlier, on January 1, Saldo told about the strike of three UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a cafe and a hotel in the village of Khorly, Kalanchak municipal district. A criminal case on the terrorist attack was opened on the fact of the incident.

On December 4, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that the number of victims of the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike on a cafe and a hotel in the village of Khorly increased to 29 people. At least 60 people were injured in the attack. There are 15 people in medical institutions, the condition of three of them was assessed as serious.
