Investigators have opened a criminal case into the derailment of more than 30 freight train cars on the Gudachi-Gonzha section in the Amur Region. This was announced on January 5 by the Eastern Interregional Investigative Department for Transport (MCT) of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of railway transport, which negligently caused major damage")," the agency's Telegram channel says.
It is expected that the incident on the Gudachi-Gonzha stage will lead to the delay of four passenger trains. In addition, the damage is currently estimated at more than 1 million rubles.
Freight train cars derailed in the Amur region earlier that day. It was noted that no one was injured in the incident. However, the railway infrastructure was damaged.
