- The UK reported that there was no witness confirmation of the version of the escape of the Usoltsevs.
The version about the possible escape abroad of the Usoltsev family, which disappeared in the autumn of 2025 in the Minsk loop area of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, was not confirmed by any of the interviewed witnesses. This was announced on Monday, January 5, by the deputy head of the first directorate for the investigation of particularly important cases, the regional head of the department, Yana Syrymbetova.
"Everyone was very interested in the possibility of the Usoltsevs going abroad, that is, the possibility of escape. But this version has not been confirmed," she said in an interview with TASS.
Syrymbetova stressed that none of the family members had a ban on leaving the country, and during searches in their house expired passports were found, which had marks indicating that the Usoltsevs periodically traveled. She added that the family members did not take their Russian passports with them, nor did they apply for new documents.
"Basically, the family, if they wanted to go somewhere abroad, they could easily do it. Relatives say that there were no prerequisites for them to pack up and leave without warning anyone," the investigator summed up.
On September 28, 2025, the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Krasnoyarsk Territory reported the disappearance of the Usoltsev family, consisting of a man and a woman born in 1961 and 1977, as well as their five-year-old child, who went on a camping trip. In their search, which found only the family car, over 515 km of forest roads and 40 square kilometers of forest were explored.
On October 2, Izvestia spoke with Irina Usoltseva's friend Oksana Zhdanyuk, who clarified that the Usoltsevs had not shared details of their route. On December 18, the volunteers told us when they plan to resume the search for the Usoltsevs. According to the representative of the regional level, Serafima Choodu, the detachment is "at a low start," and the search will resume under suitable weather conditions. They decided to conduct the operation, including in a point format.
