When an ambulance and a truck collided in the Lyubinsky district of the Omsk region, three people were injured and one died. This was reported on the morning of January 5 in the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.
It is specified that the accident occurred on January 4. According to preliminary information, the driver driving a Mercedes truck, making a U-turn, did not provide an advantage to the ambulance, which was driving at a red traffic light with flashing lights and a special sound signal. The accident occurred at a controlled intersection in the area of 591 kilometers of the Tyumen—Omsk road.
"As a result of the accident, the ambulance patient, a 56—year-old man in a coma, died," the prosecutor's office said in a Telegram message.
The ministry noted that two paramedics and an ambulance driver were hospitalized, and also stressed that the circumstances of the accident would be established during the inspection.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Tatarstan reported a day earlier that four people were killed in a massive road accident involving at least 10 cars. The accident, which involved heavy trucks, occurred on a toll section of the Kazan–Almetyevsk highway. At that time, it was reported that a criminal case had been initiated in accordance with Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet security requirements").
