Representatives of the European Union (EU), pursuing their anti-Russian policy, are ready to go "to the edge of the abyss." This was announced by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico on Sunday, January 4.

"The European Union's anti—Russian approaches may reach the edge of the abyss. <...> and I no longer know what was born in the name of hatred towards Russia in the minds of Brussels officials," Fico said in a video message posted on his Facebook page (banned in Russia, owned by a corporation Meta, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).

The Prime Minister noted that the amount of the military loan approved by EU politicians, provided to Kiev, already amounts to 280 billion euros. In addition, he recalled the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions by the alliance and the freezing of Russian assets. All of this, as Fico clarified, is not a decision made by "fallen from the moon," but a very specific action, which demonstrates the prevailing intolerance in the West towards the Russian Federation.

On January 1, Fico stated that he was horrified by the attitude of some EU leaders towards resolving the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, a number of ruling figures are looking at this situation with "ease and greed". He stressed that peace is not just a word, but the basis for human existence.
