Pafos Cyprus coach Carcedo to sign contract with Spartak
During the next week, the head coach of the Cyprus football club (FC) Paphos, Juan Carcedo, is due to fly to Moscow to sign a contract with Spartak. This was reported on January 3 by Sport-Express.
Carcedo has already coached Spartak: in 2012, he was a member of the coaching staff of Unai Emery, and also worked with him at Almeria, Valencia, Sevilla, PSG and Arsenal.
According to the publication, in 2020 Carcedo began an independent coaching career at Ibiza, where he worked until 2021. From May to December in 2022, he worked at Zaragoza, and from mid-2023 he was listed as the head coach of Paphos. With him, the team became the champion of Cyprus and took the Cup of the country.
"It's difficult to explain your decision to the whole world. I think this is the best decision for me and my family," Carcedo commented on his decision to join the Russian club to Goal.Philenews.
FC Dynamo announced on December 29 that Vadim Evseev had been appointed the new head coach of the club. Evseev is a well—known Russian football player in the past, a multiple champion of Russia in the Moscow "Locomotive" and "Spartak", as well as a participant in the European Championship. After finishing his playing career, he continued to work in football as a coach.
