HC Spartak beat Torpedo with a score of 7:6
Spartak Moscow Hockey Club (HC) beat Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod with a score of 7:6 in an away match of the regular season of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
Dmitry Solovyov, Daniil Orlov (twice), Nikita Korostelev, Lucas Lockhart, Nathan Todd and Mikhail Maltsev scored goals for the winners. The owners of Torpedo are Vasily Atanasov (twice), Anton Sizov, Egor Vinogradov, Daniil Zhuravlev and Maxim Letunov.
Spartak scored 47 points after 41 matches and is in 8th place in the Western Conference table. Torpedo suffered its fourth defeat in a row, sitting on the 5th line with 50 points in 41 games.
Torpedo's next match will be at home against Astana's Barys, while Spartak will play in Cherepovets with local Severstal. Both games are scheduled for January 6th.
Earlier that day, HC Lokomotiv Yaroslavl defeated CSKA Moscow in a KHL match on January 4 in a shootout. Regular time and overtime ended with a score of 1:1. Denis Zernov scored for CSKA, and Byron Fraz scored for Lokomotiv. The winning shootout was scored by Artur Kayumov.
