The duration of the May holidays in the coming year will be six days — Russians will rest for three days in the period from May 1st to May 3rd and from May 9th to 11th. This was announced on January 4 by Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.
"According to our Labor Code, May 1, Labor Day, is a public holiday. In 2026, May 1 falls on a Friday, so we will have days off on May 1, 2, and 3. Also, according to the Labor Code, May 9 is a non—working holiday, Great Victory Day, respectively, it coincides with Saturday. Therefore, it turns out that May 9, May 10 and May 11 will be days off," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
