The head of the German Council for Constitution and Sovereignty, Ralf Niemeyer, in an interview with Izvestia on January 3, pointed out the duplicity of the head of the European Diplomacy, Kai Callas, because of her words about Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

On that day, Callas phoned U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio after the U.S. strikes on Caracas, saying that the European Union (EU) was closely monitoring the situation and believed that President Nicolas Maduro "does not have sufficient legitimacy."

"These people are not affected by the legitimate or illegitimate government in Venezuela. The international law of the United Nations states very clearly that no Member State should interfere from the outside in the internal affairs of another Member State. So this is a clear violation of international law, and I'm surprised when Mrs. Callas says this, she always calls for sanctions against Russia," Niemeyer said.

In his opinion, at the moment Callas should call for sanctions against the United States, because at the moment "they have invaded a sovereign state."

"Whether they like their leader or not is none of their business. The people of Venezuela must decide for themselves who is their president and who is the legitimate leader of their country," the expert concluded.

American leader Donald Trump said this afternoon that the United States had successfully launched a large-scale strike on Venezuela. He also pointed out that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his family had been captured and taken out of the country.

It later became known that the United States had charged Maduro and his wife in court in New York.
