Trump cancelled the semiconductor deal due to the threat to national security
US President Donald Trump has signed a decree canceling the semiconductor industry deal between Emcore and HieFo, citing possible risks to the country's national security. This follows from Trump's decree dated January 2, published on the White House website.
"This transaction is prohibited, and HieFo's ownership of any shares, interests, or rights in Emcore assets, regardless of whether it is carried out directly or indirectly through HieFo itself or through its partners, subsidiaries, affiliates, or foreign shareholders, is also prohibited," the American leader's decree says.
