The crew of the T-80BVM tank of the Aleysky motorized rifle unit of the Center group of forces destroyed a strongpoint with firing points and a system of hidden moves of formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Red Army area of the special military operation (SVO). This was announced on January 3 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

According to the ministry, the tankers performed the task from a closed firing position, guided by ground reconnaissance data. The fire was adjusted in real time using calculations of the troops of unmanned systems (UAVs). It is specified that thanks to operational adjustments, it was possible to effectively hit the target at a distance of more than 10 km with 125-mm high-explosive shells.

"Work is underway on strong points, suppressing the enemy from his points, so that our assault units can enter more calmly, move around, and occupy these positions as well. Today we managed to do everything very clearly with two shells," said Sergeant Igor Bobenkov, tank commander.

The Ministry of Defense noted that the accurate and timely destruction of the stronghold and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine significantly weakened the enemy and provided an opportunity for the further offensive of the assault units of the "Center" in the Red Army direction. It is reported that tankers of the 35th separate Guards Motorized Rifle brigade continue to provide fire support to the offensive.
