The first significant magnetic storm began on Earth in 2026. This was announced on the evening of January 2 by specialists from the Institute of Applied Geophysics (FSBI IPG).

Speaking to TASS, they clarified that the level of the magnetic storm is currently reaching G1 ("weak").
