The UN expressed concern about the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attack on the Khors in the Kherson region

On January 2, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) expressed concern about the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Khorly in the Kherson region with civilian casualties and called for a prompt and impartial investigation of the strikes.

"We are alarmed by reports of an attack on New Year's Eve in Khorly, Kherson region, which resulted in civilian casualties, including children," a message on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

In addition, the OHCHR added that the detailed attack raises questions about compliance with international humanitarian law.

On January 1, the Governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, reported on the attack of three drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a cafe and a hotel in the village of Khorly. The victims of the attack were 28 people, including two children. A criminal case has been opened into the attack.

On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin heard a report from Balance on the situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike and on the progress of investigative actions. Later, he agreed that the crime was similar to the burning of people in Odessa on May 2, 2014.

The victims of the attack in the village of Khorly on January 2 told about how the strike occurred and what they had to go through at that moment. The victim, Svetlana Dudchenko, spoke about the sequence of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to her, at first there was a blow near the building, which she took as a warning.
