There were no Russian citizens among the 113 identified out of all 119 injured in the fire at the Constellation bar, located in the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana. This was announced on Friday, January 2, according to data from law enforcement officials.

"As for the 119 victims, according to the initial information available to us, 113 people have been officially and definitively identified, and the identification process is still ongoing for another six people," Valais Canton Police Commander Frederic Gisler said at a briefing.

According to him, the identified persons who were injured mainly included Swiss people, 71 citizens of the confederation were injured in the incident. In addition, as Gisler listed, 14 French, 11 Italians, four Serbs and one citizen each from countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland and Portugal were injured.

He also stated that the final determination of citizenship of 14 more people is currently underway. The commandant added that in parallel with this process, the identification of the bodies of 40 victims is also taking place, which is a priority of his department.

The explosion and fire in Crans-Montana became known on Thursday, January 1. Those who died in the event of a fire due to a firecracker thrown into the suspended ceiling were trapped in the basement hall where the event was taking place. According to Samuel Rapp, an eyewitness to the tragedy, the incident caused panic and chaos, which escalated into a stampede. Speaking to Izvestia, the young man said that the establishment where the fire occurred was popular among the younger generation. The Russian Embassy in Switzerland stated that they had not received information about the injured Russians after the explosion and fire in the Constellation bar.
