Politico named the key problems for Ukraine this winter

The United States has identified the key threats that Ukraine may face during the winter period. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on January 2.

Ukraine could find itself in a difficult position this winter due to Russia's ongoing attacks on the country's energy infrastructure and the inability of the Europeans to finance Kiev sufficiently.

In addition, Ukraine is experiencing an acute shortage of personnel: Kiev is able to deploy only about 10 military personnel on 1 km of the front line. In this regard, the risk of a breakthrough of defensive lines is not excluded, the authors added.

On December 16, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that cold could become one of the most dangerous weapons for Ukraine this winter. He also noted that Kiev needs to strengthen its air defense systems.
