In Ukraine, the proportion of citizens making territorial concessions has tripled since 2022. This was confirmed on January 2 by the results of a survey conducted by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology.

"33% are generally ready for certain territorial losses. At the same time, from 8% to 14%, there were more people who could not make up their minds," the survey says on the organization's website.

It is noted that in 2022, only 10% of respondents agreed to such conditions. At the same time, according to the institute, if 82% of Ukrainians surveyed opposed territorial concessions in 2022, then by December last year their share had decreased to 53%.

The New York Times (NYT) reported on December 30 that Ukrainian officials, during negotiations with the US delegation in Riyadh on March 11, for the first time allowed the possibility of giving up 20% of the territories. It was noted that during the meeting, Rustem Umerov, who held the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine at that time, marked the borders acceptable to Kiev on the map with a marker.

Before that, on December 14, it became known that the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, allowed the country to refuse to join NATO as a compromise.
