The film "Pinocchio" has been released on movie screens

On January 1, the New Year's premiere of the film "Pinocchio", created with the participation of the National Media Group, was released on cinema screens. This is a new reading of a fairy tale, the lines of which everyone knows.

Thanks to the fairy tale by Alexei Tolstoy, and then to the famous film incarnation, Pinocchio became a truly beloved folk hero.

"I had goosebumps, I was so reincarnated in childhood, I felt that we were even singing all these songs in the hall, clapping," Dilara, a spectator, shared her impressions of the new picture.

The new film adaptation still features beloved music and famous songs about Pinocchio, and the line "He's not a toy - he's alive!" became fundamental for the film's director Igor Voloshin.

"Is Pinocchio a living tree or a wooden man? It should be a magical incarnate spirit according to Papa Carlo's wish. We have a puppet come to life in front of us," Voloshin stressed.

The cunning and selfish Basilio the Cat and Alice the fox, the wise Tortilla, the melancholic Pierrot — the costumers of the film had to try to accurately convey the character and mood of each character. The merry Harlequin, for example, played by Ruzil Minekaev, is in a bright carnival image, and Malvina, played by Anastasia Talyzina, is a sad doll.

"I had a broken porcelain cup on my corset, which was sewn with jewelry, and there were beads in the shape of tears," Talyzina said.

Nadezhda Vasilyeva-Balabanova was responsible for the costumes. The images of the heroes of the new film about Pinocchio were exhibited in the Moscow metro at Vorobyovy Gory station. The beard of Karabas-Barabas was the most impressive.

"The beard is very impressive, long in size, that's just great," said Anastasia, a subway passenger.

As noted by Izvestia film critic Nikolai Nikulin, Alice the Fox, played by Victoria Isakova, and Basilio the cat, played by Alexander Petrov, are surprising and cunning in the new film. The tandem of crooks, as in the Soviet film of 1975, will try to deceive the main character, but in the new "Pinocchio" events will develop differently, and unfold not in the land of fools, but on the streets of a small Italian town.

The film has a lot of music, songs and a carnival atmosphere. The brilliant cast made the old favorite fairy tale more relevant than ever. Pinocchio will see a lot of injustice on his way, but wherever he goes, he will bring joy.
