The FCS named a way to avoid delays in international parcels
In order for international parcels to arrive on time, senders must carefully fill out customs declarations and not forward goods subject to prohibitions and restrictions. This was announced on January 2 by Alexander Venglyuk, head of the customs post at Sheremetyevo Airport (postal) of the Central Postal Customs.
"In export, individuals who send goods should carefully consider filling out the customs declaration: it is necessary to put signatures, indicate everything in full. Unambiguously indicate the name of the product, its quantity and cost. And then everyone will be happy, the goods will arrive on time and without delay," he shared with TASS.
The press service of the Central Postal Customs reported that at the Moscow - Sheremetyevo international postal exchange point, customs control is carried out around the clock. Traditionally, the flow of international shipments begins to grow in November, which peaks in December and increases by an average of 30%. Most often, clothes, shoes, bags, children's and Christmas toys, electronics and household appliances are sent.
On the eve of the New Year, the customs authorities have stepped up the work of shifts, including by seconding staff from other posts and changing schedules to avoid delays in clearance. All international mail items are monitored using X-ray equipment, the agency reports.
It clarifies that inspectors identify goods prohibited or restricted for shipment, including medicines with prohibited substances, counterfeit products, alcohol and tobacco, plants and seeds without permits, knives, sports bows, as well as so-called "spy" goods. According to the Central Postal Customs, over 4 thousand parcels with similar violations were detected in 11 months.
Representatives of associations of transport, logistics and postal courier companies reported on December 23 that Russians were faced with increasing delays in the delivery of international parcels due to increased shipments and complicated customs procedures. It was noted that the main increase in delays is observed at the first stage of international delivery — outside the country, where the volume of goods shipped has increased and customs procedures have become more complicated.
