On January 2, diplomats of the Permanent Mission of Russia to the United Nations Office in Geneva expressed their condolences to the families of those killed in the fire at the Crans-Montana ski resort in Switzerland.

"We express our sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wish the injured a speedy recovery," the Telegram channel said.

The explosion and fire at the ski resort were reported on January 1. According to the RTS TV channel, the incident occurred on New Year's Eve. According to the law enforcement agencies, the incident does not qualify as a terrorist act. There were more than 100 people inside the building at the time of the fire. Those who died when a fire broke out in a bar in the Crans-Montana ski resort in Switzerland were trapped in the basement hall where the disco was taking place. In addition, the Russian Embassy in Switzerland reported that it had not received any information about the injured Russians.

In turn, Samuel Rapp, an eyewitness to the tragedy, said that a powerful explosion in a bar on New Year's Eve caused panic and stampede, which killed people. According to him, he arrived at the scene half an hour after the explosion. At that moment, police officers and doctors were working at the scene, setting up a protective perimeter.
