Abu Dhabi authorities celebrated the start of 2026 with a record 62-minute fireworks display and a large-scale show featuring more than 6.5 thousand drones. This was reported on January 1 by the newspaper The Free Press Journal.

"Abu Dhabi celebrated the year 2026 with a record-breaking celebration, hosting a 62-minute continuous fireworks show accompanied by a dazzling display of more than 6.5 thousand synchronized drones," the publication says.

As follows from the material, the main celebrations were held in the Al-Wasba area. The organizers used modern launch and visual synchronization systems, turning the sky over the desert into a grandiose light stage. After the fireworks, thousands of drones took to the air, forming animated compositions, including the image of a phoenix "reborn" and glowing in the night sky, the newspaper writes.

On December 31, on New Year's Eve, the British authorities decided to close a number of the most famous parks in central London to visitors. Hyde Park, Greenwich Park, St. James's Park and other famous parks in the center of the British capital were closed. This news, as emphasized, caused outrage among local residents.
