- It became known about the introduction of a surveillance system for military personnel in Ukraine
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine will soon introduce a system called "Mobilised Check-in", which will allow representatives of the department to track the movements of each conscripted person. This was announced on Thursday, January 1, by a representative of the Russian law enforcement agencies.
"The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is introducing a check-in system for the mobilized, which will track every step of the conscript," he said in an interview with the RIA Novosti news agency.
The first step of this system, as the agency's interlocutor clarified, is an electronic military accounting document in the Reserve+ application. The Obereg registry, which allows military personnel to update data without visiting the shopping mall (an analog of the military enlistment office in Ukraine. — Ed.)
The interlocutor clarified that the registry he named would monitor the scanning of the corresponding QR code by the smartphone owner and identify the time of the operation. In addition, the application will show what actions the conscript has already performed.
This innovation, as the source added, may later lead to the recording of arrival at a military unit with tracking of everything happening there.
On the same day, Ukrainian prisoner of war Roman Dubovik spoke about the terrifying method used by his colleagues to prevent them from being sent back to the front after attempting to defect. The man stated that the military cut off their fingers on their own, and one of them even hit himself on the head with an axe to cause injury.
On December 27, 2025, the Russian Ministry of Defense published footage of a conversation with one captured Ukrainian soldier, Emil Farward. He, who was captured by the workers of the shopping mall on the way from the hospital, where he visited his mother, told about the methods of forced mobilization in Ukraine.
