Activists lit candles in memory of the victims in the Kherson region
Activists of volunteer movements and residents of the Zaporizhia region lit candles in memory of those killed in the Khorly of the Kherson region during the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on January 1 by the governor of the region Evgeny Balitsky.
"Activists of the movements #MYPLACE, Yug Molodoy, Volunteers of Victory and the Russian Youth Union, together with residents of the Zaporizhia region, lit candles in memory of the victims," the Telegram channel says.
Balitsky added that the attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants was targeted, they understood that the strikes were being carried out in a place where there were no military facilities.
On the same day, it was reported that 24 people died in Khorly, Kherson region, as a result of a strike by three Ukrainian drones on a cafe and a hotel. Six victims, including children, are in serious condition. In addition, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act"). As the governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo, noted, after the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike in the region, 19 people remain in hospitals. Later, Russian President Vladimir Putin heard Baldo's report on the situation in connection with the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike and on the course of investigative actions and agreed that this crime was the same in cruelty, inhumanity and cynicism as the burning of people in Odessa on May 2, 2014.
On January 1, the administration of the Kherson region published the first list of those killed as a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on a cafe and a hotel in Khorly, including one underage girl.
