US President Donald Trump has terminated the lease of public golf courses between the Washington National Park Service and the National Golf Foundation (NLT) amid reports that the American leader intends to reconstruct them. This was announced on January 1 by the NLT press service.

"NLT is deeply saddened by the Trump administration's decision to terminate our 50-year lease with the National Park Service. Since taking over management of the Rock Creek, East Potomac and Langston Golf courses five years ago, NLT has faithfully fulfilled all lease obligations, striving to ensure the best possible future for public golf in Washington," the publication says.

In addition, NLT disagreed with Trump's accusations that the foundation violated the terms of the lease agreement.

On December 15, Trump announced plans to build the Arc de Triomphe in Washington, which will be located next to the Arlington Bridge and Arlington National Cemetery, opposite the Lincoln Memorial. The President stressed that the new arch will be unique for the United States.
