The Air Defense Forces eliminated two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that were heading towards Moscow. This was announced on January 1 by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

"The air defense forces of the Ministry of Defense destroyed two UAVs flying to Moscow. Emergency services specialists are working at the crash site," he said in a statement on Twitter.
