A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The units of the North group of forces improved their tactical situation, defeated the formations of two mechanized infantry brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Kondratovka, Khrapovshchina, Novaya Sich, Khoten and Ryzhevka of the Sumy region. In the Kharkiv direction, units of two motorized infantry brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Volchansk Farms and Liman, Kharkiv region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 190 military personnel, 11 vehicles, an electronic warfare station and two warehouses of materiel.

"Units of the Zapad group of forces defeated the manpower and equipment of two mechanized assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and two National Guard brigades in the areas of Kupyansk-Uzlovaya, Podoly, Glushkovka, Kharkiv region, Drobyshevo, Krasny Liman and Ilyichevka of the Donetsk People's Republic. During the day, units of the 6th Army repelled two attacks by formations of the 92nd Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kupyansk direction. In total, enemy losses in the area of responsibility of the Zapad group of forces amounted to 210 military personnel, a tank, a US—made MaxxPro armored fighting vehicle, 16 vehicles and four field artillery guns," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The units of the "Southern" group of forces have taken more advantageous positions and positions. They defeated formations of two mechanized airmobile brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a marine brigade in the areas of the settlements of Zakotonoye, Bondarnoye, Kramatorsk, Konstantinovka, Reznikovka, Nikolaevka and Berestok of the Donetsk People's Republic. The enemy lost over 190 military personnel, three armored combat vehicles, including a US-made MaxxPro armored car, ten vehicles and four artillery pieces.

The units of the Center group of forces have improved their position along the front line. They defeated the manpower and equipment of two mechanized, airmobile, assault, two amphibious assault brigades, two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade, a defense brigade, three National Guard brigades and the Azov special forces brigade. The enemy's losses amounted to up to 470 military personnel, an armored personnel carrier, an armored combat vehicle, eight vehicles, two field artillery guns and a US-made AN/TPQ-37 counter-battery warfare station.

The units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses. The manpower and equipment of the mechanized assault brigades and three assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Dorozhnyanka, Verkhnyaya Tersa, Zaliznichnoye, Ternovatoye, Zaporizhia region, Bratskoye and Velikomikhailovka, Dnipropetrovsk region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 220 soldiers, a tank, two armored personnel carriers, an armored combat vehicle and six vehicles.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated energy facilities used in the interests of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, ammunition depots, assembly shops for long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, temporary locations of Ukrainian armed formations, nationalists and foreign mercenaries in 154 regions. The Russian Air Force shot down a Su-27 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force. A guided aerial bomb and 250 aircraft-type drones were shot down by air defense systems.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 670 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 106,444 UAVs, 641 anti-aircraft missile systems, 26,826 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,634 multiple rocket launchers, 32,303 field artillery and mortars, 50,530 units of special military vehicles.
