The Federation Council recalled new measures to support large families from January 1.

With the advent of the new year, new laws have come into force in Russia aimed at expanding social protection measures for large families. This was announced on January 1 by the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.

"I would like <...> to talk about those laws that are aimed at strengthening the social protection of large families. We have made changes to the Tax Code. Starting from January 1, an employee will no longer pay taxes on payments related to the birth of a child — up to one million rubles. Previously, it was only 50 thousand [rubles]," she said on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

Also, as part of the innovations, the methodology for calculating the insurance experience of parents in large families has been changed.

"Pensions will be significantly increased for one of the parents, because it is important, raising children is also a lot of work," Matvienko explained.

Women with the title of "Mother Heroine" have received a separate support package since the new year.

"For their very important and personal, state, I would say, work, they will receive a wide package of support, equivalent to Heroes of Labor," the politician said.
